Th State of QUERÉTARO, Mexico

Located at center of MExica Republic, in paralelo 20º 1´2” and 21º 37´17” of north latitud and meridian 99º 03´23” y 100º 34´01” west longitud in relation with Greenwich Meridian.

The complet name of Querétaro is Santiago de Querétaro, and is one of the 6 samallest states of the Mexican Republic. With 11,976 km2 of extension represent the 6% of the total of country surface and count with 1´402,010.00 peoples, it represent the1.44% of the total population of Mexico.

The City of Queretaro, capital of the State is registered as Patrimony Cultural of Mankind and is located strategically for trade and economy of Mexico.

The city of Querétaro is located at 2 hours from the north of Mexico City Capital in the comercial path most important of the country. The city count with industrial parks in wich many international companies are hosting.

The city of Queretaro is one of the most growing and dinamic develop in the country, the quiality of life is superior to national media and is one colonial jewel and patrimony of mankind.

Inner the State can be encountered many cities with great traditions and rich culture. One can encounter all kind of landscapes and climates, archeological sites and touristic places as the "Peña de Bernal" Bernal Rock (the thisrd most great of this kind on the world) and the "Sierra Gorda" zone (proclamed reserv of the biosfera).

Querétaro have pleasant climate beetwen 18º C y los 21º C, count with encino and pine forests and subtropical zones, also semidesertic zones, and places with 500mts. hasta los 3,400 mts. over the sea level.

The principal activities of the State are the industry, count with 18 industrial parks, also the agriculture and tourism are part important of the life of the city with comercial and hotel infrastructure.

The higest altitud in the State are in the "Cerro de El Zamorano", with 3,300 m. over the sea level. the lowest altitud is encountered at north of the state in the "Cañón del río Santa María", with 600 m. over the sea level.

The state is divided in 18 municipalities. the capital city, the city of Santiago de Querétaro, is located on the west of the State..

Querétaro limits at north with San Luis Potosí; at norwest and west with Guanajuato, at south Michoacán, México at southeast and east with Hidalgo.
